Prize Money
Prize awarded in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa hits as much as $420,000,000. It means a 60 percent increase compared with the previous tournament, Germany 2006. The prize distribution will be as follows.
$1,000,000 for each participating team before the tournament;
$8,000,000 for teams that exit the group stage
$9,000,000 for teams that enter the Round of 16
$18,000,000 for teams that enter the Quarter-finals
$20,000,000 for teams that enter the Semifinals
$24,000,000 for the Runners up
$30,000,000 for the World Champions
$33,000,000 for domestic clubs where the players are in international duties during the tournament.
