Alfredo Di Stefano, Duncan Edwards, Ladislao Kubala, Ryan Giggs, John Toschack, Neville Southall, Johnny Giles, Liam Brady, Abedi Pele, Kalusha Bwalya, Ray Clemence, Matt Le Tissier, Jesaia Swart, Eric Cantona, David Ginola, Andrei Kanchelskis, Artur Friednreich, Bernd Schuster. All of these players reached great heights despite the absence of a FIFA World Cup on ther Curriculum Vitae. Inevitably, however, we are left to wonder how much brighter their stars might have burned had it not been for this one glaring omission.
